Big Data Analytic/Business Analytic/Data Analytic are one and the same. There are different definition are floating around in the internet. But to learn Analytic you need to know strong mathematics and Statistics. Someone in the forum said it is easy to learn. I agree with that response if you know mathematics and statistics. Otherwise it is very very difficult. But once you master required mathematics and statistics, programming is much much easier related to analytic. So try to focus on learning maths/statistics rather programming. Programming will take maximum 15-30 days for a layman who does not have any idea about programming once you know mathematics and Statistics. read less

You should focus on the analytics part of Data Science, and not on big data. Analytics require knowledge of business along with Data Science skills.

Though you might know coding at all but your management experience of the market will help you here which pure technical person lacks and I hope you can learn a bit of coding if required. With the industry moving towards graphical tools and software, you may not necessarily need much of coding. We need to understand for a Data Scientist, analytical skills are of utmost importance. read less

Nevertheless the most promising jobs in future at least for next 15 years is on Data Scientists. You need not know much about programming. If you have an aptitude to work on Statistics and Analysis it is good to go. Several tools are already available and there may not necessarily be a need to learn deep dive programming. Big Data is more of large storage and hence just focus on whether this field fits you. There are few standard institutes that offer online / class room training. read less

Hello, I am Ali from Hyderabad, and I am into Telecom field as a Network Performance Engineer from the past 3 years, and as I don't find any growth in Telecom Field due to stability I am thinking to switch into IT field. And so far whatever I have researched I found Big Data is the demand in IT sector. 1. Can a non-IT guy with no programming/coding knowledge can step into Big Data? 2. Python is not mandatory for learning spark. But if you have some core Java skills, that will be the add on to learn spark.

I have done my PGDITM(POST GRADUATION DIPLOMA IN Information Technology MANAGEMENT) with FINANCIAL SYSTEMS specialization in 2014. I didn't get a job until now. The reasons that I am getting rejected for is that my graduation is B.TECH and my PG is also in IT. This was the reason given by the companies after asking for a feedback. You can learn Big Data now and try for jobs in IT. Companies are not expecting much experience from candidates as Hadoop is very recent technology. Online tutor is better for your learning.
