it is not necessary to learn C and C++, but if you want to make your are career in computer then learn C & C++ because these are basic computer language.

C / C++ is not a necessity before joining an engineering college but it is a big + point if you learn the languages. You will have C language in your first semester and C++ in your second. It is like that in most of the engineering colleges. But when you start the language, I advise you to learn and understand it by heart. If you are aiming to go into the development/Coding field, these 2 languages are best to start with. Only way to learn a language is to implement what you have learnt. no but it will help you to understand the concepts taught in the class hour in Engg. college then other students. As in College we attend the class with around more than 60 students so concentrating the topics will be difficult if we dont have good knowledge in fundamental

Yes it's very necessary to learn C . Because in the 1st year only you have to complete C. And leaning C++ will give you advantage. But knowing the concept of will help you a lot in your engineering career
