Hi,
If you launch instance under public subnets, you will get a public IP address, but it will change whenever the instance reboot.
If you need the permanent public IP address, for instance (node), you have to choose the elastic IP address and attach to the case. It's useful for DNS mapping also to the IP address (name to IP).
