Guitar size is related to students age. If the learner is kid or under 12 so we can use mini size guitar.

Learning on a smaller guitar is not a detriment - not in the absolute beginning stages anyway. In some ways, it may actually be easier to play than a full size instrument. Your hands are never too small to play guitar and you don't need a reduced-size guitar to play.

These are some broad guidelines - 

1. Guitar sizes are noted as 1/4(ages 3-5), 2/4(ages 5-8), 3/4(ages 8-12), 4/4(above 12). 

2. A mini guitar would be either 1/4 or 1/2.

3. Make sure it is a miniature sized real guitar and not a toy guitar.

4. If you are wanting an instrument to accompany your singing, you can also consider learning the ukulele instead.
