ILETS Writing part is the most tricky part of the IELTS examination in both cases, i.e IELTS Academic and IELTS General. Gaining a 7+ in IELTS writing can be achieved if you focus on the following four parameters that you are marked on:

1. Relevance and Accuracy of your answer

2. Clarity in your ideas

3. Grammar

4. Vocabulary

 

So, you should have a perfect combination of all the four parameters in your writing style to get a good score in the writing section.

IELTS writing is not that easy as even after , fulfilling all the requirements , one may not score above 7 bands. They really look for high range of grammar. So read and practice a lot to fulfill their 4 requirements. Let me know further

I am not quite sure if you are referring to IELTS Academic or General but irrespective of that, writing task is one tough nut to crack if not approached in the required format. Few things which I would suggest you to follow specially with respect to the essay question which is common to both Academic and General are: stick to the word limit, don't forget to paraprahse the topic followed by your points for and against; besides these practice writing as much as you can and get them assesed by some experienced mentor. These are just a couple of tips beyond which I cannot help in this post but yes definitely these will prove instrumental in setting the tone for your success.
