Is SCCM training/idea needed for learning InTune technology?

Having knowledge of SCCM could be beneficial when learning Intune, but it's not strictly required. The reason is that Microsoft has been working towards convergence and integration between SCCM and Intune, allowing organizations to use both solutions together in what's often referred to as co-management.

Here are some considerations:

1. Co-Management:

   • Co-management allows organizations to manage devices with both SCCM and Intune simultaneously. This approach is useful for transitioning from on-premises management (SCCM) to cloud-based management (Intune).

2. Intune as a Standalone Solution:

   • Intune can be used as a standalone solution for cloud-based device management. If your organization is fully embracing cloud services, you may choose to focus on Intune without SCCM.

3. Training Paths:

   • Microsoft provides training resources for both SCCM and Intune. The training paths can be tailored based on your organization's needs and deployment scenarios. Microsoft Learn is a great resource for free, self-paced training on both technologies.

4. Unified Endpoint Management (UEM):

   • Understanding the concept of UEM, where both traditional and modern management approaches are unified, is key. This involves managing devices, applications, and security policies across on-premises and cloud environments.

5. Organizational Requirements:

   • Consider your organization's specific requirements and the current state of your IT infrastructure. If your organization heavily relies on SCCM, understanding its capabilities may be important.
