My daughter also got admitted for nursery for the year 2012-2013 in Notre Dame Academy, Bangalore.
50+ we paid for Nursery. School campus is good.
My daughter went inside the room without fear, but she did not speak anything. Pricipal seems strict to me. Anybody knows about annual fee there? Next year onwards how much we need to pay?

thanks a lot Archana and Sheetal. thats really hellped to make the decision. good to know that they do support sports and dance etc. also, the staff seems to be co-operative unlike other schools. so, even if we have any issues, we can sort it out with them. i think overall it seems to be a good school. so we will put our kid here. thanks all for sharing your feedback.  more»

@anusha, i think we can resolve these transport issues, if we as parents group together and discuss with the principal. they seem to be co-coperative on this. they mentioned that we should visit them during april/may for books/uniforms/transport issues. so, let's voice it at that time.

In case of primus we were immediately sent to meet the admin. they explained everything abt the school and cleared all our queries. It is icse / igcse syllabus. They even have puc.
The fees are admission fee 35000, security deposit 30000 refundable
Annual fee 58000 and resource fee 5000. Transportation 17000 upto 10 km.
I am planning to put my son in primus. «less

Somebody had told me lately to choose a school depending on who runs it, whether a capitalist or an educationist.
If the founders are capitalist they r there to make moolah, education is just a way to run the business for them, and in India where ppl are gladly willing to pay lacs in child's education, what other business can do better then teaching business keeping in mind the increasing population and non ending desire of parents to provide their children the best!
But at the end of the day capitalist is doing business and an educationist is spreading knowledge. So choice is ours where we want to send them.
The so called international schools are fully funded so they have all the facilities from beginning itself. while other school take time to have them, but slowly n surely they get them. Hopeing that i am keeping my fingers crossed.

@sheetal, wht's ur friend's feedback on sports and other extra curricular activites in this school? I felt the teachers are scared of princi and the students are scared of teachers here. am hearing it is too-much disciplined school. Do they encourage free and fear less environment? it is important to allow kids to be fearless and free to express. otherwise, it would be same as the education system we studied in our days. «less

@Dan: even i got a good feedback about the school from the parents of kids in this school, i was referred to this school by the current play school, i heard they dont have exams till 4th. . The principal isnt so strict, when i took my daughter to the school for admission infact the principal took her close and gave her maximum car, whn i went to pick up the application form also i saw her very casual with kids, i heard they give importance to sports also. i have got my daughter admitted, my only concern is the transport, as i stay in jakkasandra they charge a little high, thinking of it. «less

@anu, not much options. will check DPS east once. I didn't like the freedom international. No cleanliness and not at all hygenic. Cambridge was also not upto the mark. no play ground. Regarding the syllabus, I think the school should be good with good teachers. ICSE/CBSE doesn't matter much to me.

@dan, They have coaches for cricket, football, karate. And these sports are not offered by choice, they are mandatory for all students. They also have music and dance.
I agree on your point of free environment.

@Archana, we are also staying near haralur road. good to know there are few parents from this area. we are yet to take the admission. still thinking. there's no second language as kannada which we wanted. other thing I obesrved is that they dont have too many activities inside kinder garten classrooms. in other schools i saw lots of charts, pictures and hand made cartoons in classrooms (which shows teachers are active and involved) and they are upgraded to marker/pen and glossy white board, with projector etc. but here, the class rooms were so dull. and they still use chalk-piece and a blue board. There is not even a website till date, not sure if they can upgrade to this level soon and then the teacher-studio ratio is 1:30 which is not encouraging. Also, the transportation is private. there are no yellow school buses, some private 11-seater tempo traveller. on top of it, the humpy-bumpy rd, which will be too risky to drive during rainy season. May be, i can compromise all this if the teaching staff is very good, which i dont know. good things are they have a nice building with huge open space/playground, so still thinking if any parents who have thier kids stydying here can suggest, then we can take the call. «less

Hi All,
The kids of a freind go to this school (1st and 4th). She had nothing but good things to share about the school. She is very happy with the teachers and the princi (who takes personal interest in every child)
Although the methodology is very old school, They have maintained good standards.
