Learnings From Rafael Nadal: A True Fighter and Roger Federer: Real Champion

On 10th September 2017, Nadal won US Open 2017 and it was his 16th Grand Slam Title. Through out this tournament he played like a champion and fighter. Initial Two matches were 5 setter but he sustained that and overcome. In final match, Australian Anderson he showed his true class and was harsh on opponent, he displayed a top quality tennis with powerful forehands and top spin. Also this year in 2017, he managed to win on his favorite surface Clay, French Open. So taking away 2 Grand slams. Like him Roger Federer also won 2 grand slams (Australian open and Wimbledon) this year. These two all time rivals and great players share 35 grand slams (Roger 19 & Nadal 16) means almost 9 years of dominance on Grand slam events. Like Nadal, Federer also had lean patches in career, but he kept his cool, waited for right opportunity and displayed some classy forehands and volley.

A Fighter Nadal: This was not so easy for him, after winning French Open in 2014, Nadal had series of injuries and last year in 2016, he retired after 3rd round due to damaged wrist. A player who was on a winning spree till 2014 and suddenly was forced to be down by wear and tear caused by so many years of power play, still he had a faith on his abilities, his determination for paying tennis was tremendous, any other player would have taken retirement, but he stood like a true leader and fought all odds. In those bad patches he must have fallen down to many stronger and new players, he must be mentally shattered, devastated with the struggles between mind and body but at the end his mind won. His never say die attitude plunged him to give best and achieve what he had planned. His determination was seen in Australian open 2017, when he reached final and displayed signs of return and here he lost to his Arch Rival Roger.

So what are the take aways from this warrior is always give your best, never give up, stay focused, work on your weakness and make them your strengths, problems will come, situations will force you to surrender but never loose hope, everyone is unique and must use his full strength to achieve his / her Goal.

Wishing all the very best to Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer and wish them to achieve many heights. Also wish all of us to be strong, consistent and shall never give up. Life is all about fall and rise but we shall remain focused, determined and keep trying. Success will follow right away.
